Single Slot Shelf Instructions
Please note: We only provide anchors suited for drywall; if your wall is made from other materials, you’ll need to purchase the appropriate hardware.
Generally, you can still follow these instructions.
You will need a level, drill, and stud finder.
Decide where you want to hang your shelf. Make a mark on the wall,
keeping in mind that the mark will be for a screw, and that once installed,
the shelf will drop down slightly from this point to slide into place.
Use your stud finder over the spot you marked.
If there is no stud behind the marked spot, use the included anchor.
If there is a stud behind the marked spot, do not use the included anchor,
and drill directly into the stud.
Next, install the drywall anchor if needed. Anchors should be flush to the wall.
Drill the screw into the anchor, leaving about ¼” of the screw
exposed from the wall. Take your shelf and gently slide the back
onto the screw & give it a tug down.
If the shelf does not slide down into place, remove shelf from the wall,
loosen screw, and try again.
If the shelf is not sitting flush to the wall, or is able to swing easily,
remove the shelf, tighten the screw and try again.
The shelf should be tight to the wall.
This light compression will keep the shelf from swinging freely.
A little force is good, but you shouldn’t need to pull too hard for it to drop into place.
